West Ham are one of the clubs keeping tabs on Cork City striker Sean Maguire, according to the Scottish Sun.

The 23 year old was a youth player at the Hammers but he has been playing in the League of Ireland Premier Division over the past two seasons. After scoring 18 goals last campaign, he has already scored 11 this season in 16 appearances. West Ham are however not the only club looking at the prolific Irishman.

Celtic are monitoring Maguire’s situation while Championship club Preston North End are also reportedly keeping an eye on the forward. The player currently has a buyout clause of just £150,000, the Sun reports, and the low price will certainly tempt a few teams to take a risk.

Maguire joined West Ham from Waterford United in 2013 but was then sent out on loan to both Sligo Rovers and Accrington Stanley. After failing to play a senior game for the Hammers, he moved back to Ireland with Dundalk in 2015 before switching to Cork City at the beginning of last year.
