West Ham defender James Collins has told the Sun that moving to a new ground has presented a number of challenges for the Hammers this season.

The 33 year old is adamant however that their problematic early season form at home is now behind them, and that they are beginning to feel settled at the London Stadium:

“There were a few teething problems. Certainly early on in the season we didn’t perform anywhere near where we knew we could or should. But you can’t put that down to any one thing in the stadium. It was just a whole new experience for everyone — manager, players and fans. It was all a bit strange for everyone but it was something that needed to be done.”

Collins has been integral to the club’s recent improvement at the back, having started the last five league games, and helping the side to two consecutive clean sheets against Everton and Stoke City.

The Hammers will be hoping to improve their overall record at home  in the London derby against Tottenham this evening. So far this campaign, Slaven Bilic’s side have lost more games than they have won at home. A record of six wins, four draws and seven losses will need to be improved on next season if they want to finish further up the table.
