West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is hoping that the atmosphere generated by being under the lights on Friday evening at the London Stadium will be enough to get his players motivated to beat Tottenham.

The Croatian believes the occasion is very similar to the match they played against Manchester United last season in the club’s final match at Upton Park, which they won 3-2. He told the club’s official website:

“I am excited about this game. It reminds me a bit of the Manchester United game last season at Upton Park. It’s a Friday night game, under the lights, against Spurs and they need points, we need points, so it’s a massive game. If you are confident, if you are a sportsman, these are the reasons why you want to be involved in this job.”

With 39 points, Slaven Bilic’s side will be looking for at least one more win in order to be absolutely certain of playing Premier League football again next season, and fans will be hoping to get the job done against Spurs, damaging their title chances in the process.

The game against Tottenham will be the Hammers’ second to last game at home this season. They face Liverpool the following Sunday at the London Stadium before ending the season away at Turfmoor against Burnley.
