Liverpool have set a price tag of £40million for their striker Daniel Sturridge, according to the Daily Mail.

Last week, West Ham manager Slaven Bilic expressed his admiration for the 27 year old, and it seems the Reds will consider bids for the England international if the forward wishes to leave.

Sturridge has struggled with injury problems over the past three seasons, and has not played over 20 league games since the 2013/14 campaign when he scored 22 goals.

The former Chelsea player has suffered injuries to his calf and hip this season, and his lack of match fitness has led to others such as Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi moving ahead of him in the pecking order at Anfield.

His 60 goals in 115 games for Liverpool demonstrates the huge talent he possesses, but the question remains whether the Hammers would get a good enough return on their investment after shelling out a sizeable eight figure sum if injuries continue to plague him.
