Fenerbahce full back Hasan Ali Kaldirim has stated he wants to remain at the Turkish side despite his contract expiring in the summer.

Sport Witness report that both West Ham and Celtic have been interested in the 27 year old, but talking to Turkish publication Vatan (translated by Sport Witness), Kaldirim said he expects to agree a new deal to stay at his current club:

“My contract is not a problem. I want to stay at Fenerbahce for many more years. We’ll talk with the board at the end of the season. I am confident we’ll find an agreement. I am relaxed about the situation.”

With the emergence of Arthur Masuaku in recent matches, it seems a move for another left back looks to be a lower priority for manager Slaven Bilic this summer. The Croatian knows Kaldirim from his time managing Besiktas in Turkey, but it is in the right full back position where the Hammers have more pressing concerns.

The lack of right backs no doubt played a part in the switch to a back three in their last game, but the change in formation seems to have paid off going by the marked improvement in the team’s defending against Everton at the weekend.
