West Ham are keen on a deal for Leeds striker Chris Wood, but they will have to match the Yorkshire club’s £15m asking price if they want to sign the forward, according to Football.London.

The New Zealander was reportedly a target for the Hammers in the January transfer window but they opted to pursue Brentford striker Scott Hogan for £12m instead before the 25 year old joined Aston Villa.

Wood has continued his rich vein of goalscoring form since January, hitting the back of the net 25 times in total, and leads the Championship’s goal scoring charts.

Football.London report West Ham may try to use West Ham defender, and fellow countryman, Winston Reid to try and persuade Wood to make the switch to the London stadium.

Despite Wood’s hot streak in front of goal this season, this campaign is the first time he has scored more than 20 goals since the 2012/13 season, which may place some question marks over whether he is worth his £15m valuation.
