West Ham and Newcastle will battle it out to sign Saint-Etienne full back Kevin Malcuit, according to France Football magazine.

The French publication say the 25 year old will be the subject of offers from both clubs in the summer as they seek to strengthen their right back options.

The position has been a problem for manager Slaven Bilic this season with Sam Byram, Michail Antonio, Havard Nordtveit, Cheikhou Kouyate and Alvaro Arbeloa all having played there this campaign.

Sky Sports reported back in February that the Hammers will make a move for Malcuit in the summer with an expected transfer fee of £10m. Newcastle meanwhile are looking to strengthen after sealing promotion back to the Premier League after a 4-1 win over Preston on Monday night.

The Magpies are expected to lose first choice right back Vurnon Anita on a free transfer this summer, with DeAndre Yedlin the only other cover in the position. They may see Malcuit as a potential target on their return to the top flight.
