West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini is hoping to replicate the goal he scored against Everton in the same fixture last season.

The Argentinian scored with a special effort as he curled a shot from just outside the box to put the Hammers 1-0 up in the match at the Boleyn Ground. Speaking to the club’s official website, the 24 year old says it was one of his favourite goals for West Ham since his arrival at the club:

“It was one of my best goals for West Ham! I was very happy with that goal and I would love to get another one on Saturday, because this game is important for us and we need to win.”

The game at Upton Park ended 1-1 last season, but with the club now at the London stadium, Hammers fans will be hoping for the full three points as they look to reach the important 40 point mark, easing any lingering fears of being dragged into a relegation battle.

Lanzini himself has had a good second half of the season for the Hammers despite the the club’s difficult run of form. In 34 matches this campaign, the Argentine has scored seven goals, and provided two assists.
