The Sun report that Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has told friends he is open to a move to West Ham in the summer.

The England international has struggled majorly with injuries, making fewer than 20 Premier League appearances in each of his last three campaigns which has seemingly led to Reds manager Jurgen Klopp losing patience with the forward.

The German is expected to revamp Liverpool’s squad in the summer with Sturridge expected to be one of the casualties of the changes. The 27 year old had only recently recovered from a hip injury which had kept him out for over a month, but a recurrence of the injury meant he was absent from the squad for yesterday’s 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace.

Although a lethal marksman in front of goal, any club interested in Sturridge will have to weigh up the risks of his injury problems. In addition to those concerns, the player will demand a sizeable wage, and a financial gamble would have to be taken and to hope that his fitness record improves.
