AC Milan have revealed they have held talks with Barcelona about the future of winger Gerard Deulofeu. The Spaniard is an Everton player but Barca do have an option to buy back the player for a set fee at the end of the season.

The 23 year old has played well during a loan spell at the San Siro since joining the Serie A side in January, and it has prompted speculation that West Ham, among other clubs, could attempt to make a bid for the player in the summer. Milan are also keen to retain the Spanish international on a permanent basis.

Milan vice president Adriano Galliani told Milan TV (translated by the Mirror) that he had spoken to Barcelona about the situation but he is keeping quiet about the content of the discussion:

“In June, you will know, I do not know what will happen in the market, so I cannot say anything. I have spoken with the people in charge of Barcelona, but I will not tell you what they told me.”

Deulofeu has scored two goals in 11 appearances for Milan, including one against Palermo in the 4-0 win on Sunday. His form prompted a call up to the Spanish senior side. He subsequently scored in a 2-0 win over France in a friendly last month.
