West Ham may have to stump up €15m (£12.6m) if they want to land Saint-Etienne right back Kevin Malcuit in the summer, according to Buzzsport.fr.

The Hammers reportedly made two bids for the Frenchman of €8m (£7m) and €10m (£8.5m) in the January transfer window but both offers were believed to have been turned down by the Ligue One side.

Back in late February Sky Sports sources said that West Ham were expected to seal a £10m move for the 25 year old in the summer but it seems that Saint-Etienne are holding out for slightly more.

Malcuit has spent most of his career in the French lower leagues after starting out his career at Monaco but after moving from FC Niort to Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2015, he has begun to make a name for himself in Ligue One.

This season, he has been the French club’s first choice right back, making 30 appearances in all competitions, and providing four assists.
