Manchester City right back Pablo Zabaleta could be set to stay at his current club and turn down a move to West Ham, according to clubcall.com.

The website report that the 32 year old has been in talks with the Hammers over a three year deal, worth approximately £80,000 a week, but they reveal that City manager Pep Guardiola has had second thoughts about letting the Argentinian international go on a free transfer.

Zabaleta’s current contract expires in the summer but it now seems he may be offered a new deal to remain at the Etihad stadium, and it appears the full back is considering whether to stay with the team where he has spent the last nine years.

The defender has played 28 games in all competitions for City this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist. It does show the player remains in the manager’s plans, but it is also equally true, he would not be given a three year deal at City, along the lines which West Ham are reportedly offering. It seems we will have to wait and see what he decides.
