West Ham midfielder Havard Nordtveit has revealed a succession of injuries have led to a difficult first season with the Hammers.

In an interview with Norwegian newspaper Romsdals Budstikke, the 26 year old has said he has missed half the campaign due to three different injuries.

“Everything is connected. I missed more than half of the run [of games], and then there will be reactions from the body side, saying that now it has stopped. I’ve had hip problems, knee problems, ankle problems. Now it is gone, I can now play. Hopefully I manage to get a few minutes in the Premier League before the summer.”

The Norwegian international also revealed he has been asked to play by manager Slaven Bilic when not fully fit because of injuries to other players in the squad.

The utility player still believes the can make a success of things at West Ham despite the problems he has had this season. Although he knows so far it been a less than positive campaign for him, he says he has no regrets about leaving Borussia Monchengladbach. He is hoping that a run of games until the end of the season, now he is fully fit, will see a turnaround in his fortunes at the club:

“That’s how football is. It turns pretty quickly. It’s about being consistent over many games, so I know myself that I’m getting to my level. Some things have been negative, but all in all I do not regret that I went to West Ham.”
