West Ham are monitoring right back Pablo Zabaleta’s situation at Manchester City, according to Joe Bernstein of the Daily Mail.

The Hammers have used a number of players at full back this season, and it seems Slaven Bilic is keen to correct deficiencies in the area in the summer with their interest in the Argentinian international.

The Mail report that much will depend on manager Pep Guardiola and whether he sees the 32 year old as having a future at the Etihad stadium beyond the end of the season.

Zabaleta’s contract expires in the summer, and he is yet to agree to a new deal. The full back is said to be seeking assurances about his playing time. Nearing the end of his career, he is seeking to play as much as possible, and will look further afield if Guardiola can’t guarantee him first team football.

The right back has spent nine years with City, but he has been rotated by Guardiola this season, and has been in and out of the side despite making 26 appearances, and 21 starts, in all competitions.
