West Ham are monitoring Sampdoria forward Luis Muriel after it was revealed that that the Colombian international has a £24million buyout clause in his contract. The Mirror reports the Hammers have added the striker to a list of summer transfer targets.

The 25 year old has been attracting interest from a number of clubs including some of the top sides in Serie A, such as Juventus, Roma and AC Milan, but the South American has also revealed he has received offers from La Liga and the Premier League:

“The future? I’m happy at Sampdoria, because we’ve won two derbies [against their city rivals Genoa] for the first time in 57 years. But I’ve had several offers from Juventus, Inter, Milan and Roma in Italy, but also from abroad — in Spain and England.”

In 30 games this season, Muriel has scored twelve times and made nine assists. His current contract expires in 2019 and it is likely that his club Sampdoria will try to offer the Colombian a new deal in order to increase his release clause.

The Hammers did not replace Simone Zaza when he departed for Valencia in the January transfer window. Their move for Brentford striker Scott Hogan fell through leaving Slaven Bilic with limited options in forward positions. Diafra Sakho is however close to full fitness once again after recovering from a back injury, and will soon be available to support Andy Carroll in attack.
