Slaven Bilic could look to raid a player he worked with during his time at Turkish club Besiktas, according to a report.

Dean Jones in his Bleacher Report transfer column claims that scouts representing West Ham have compiled an in depth profile of 25-year-old striker Cenk Tosun.

Tosun was born in Germany but has made 14 appearances for the Turkish national team since making his debut back in 2013.

The 6’0″ forward, who also has two caps for Germany U21s, has scored 16 goals in 22 Süper Lig appearances for Besiktas this season.

He was awarded Best Goal from the Champions League group stage for an incredible volley scored against Benfica.

Slaven Bilic knows Tosun extremely well having signed the player for Besiktas in an €8 million deal from rivals Gaziantepspor in 2014.

Tosun was more of a squad player under Bilic’s tenure with the Istanbul club but has since asserted himself as one of Besiktas’s key players.

Championship outfit Norwich are also said to be interested in securing Tosun’s services and may well lodge a bid if they manage to win promotion.

West Ham are in dire need of a prolific centre forward and Tosun is at least statistically the kind of striker the Hammers have been crying out for.

Bilic is clearly a fan having already chosen to sign Tosun once in his management career, and the Turkish hitman would bring invaluable European experience to the squad should he make the move to London Stadium.
