West Ham have made an enquiry for Arsenal striker Lucas Perez, according to The Times. Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is reportedly an admirer of the Spaniard’s talents and believes the Gunners are prepared to offload the forward.

The 28 year old was only purchased for £17million from Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna in the summer but he has struggled for game time despite impressing on the occasions he had started for Arsenal.

Despite only making nine starts in all competitions, Perez has scored seven times and provided five assists for his team mates. The forward has spoken out on Spanish radio in recent weeks about his lack of opportunities under Arsene Wenger but he also expressed his desire to stay and fight for his place.

The Times report that Perez may be allowed to depart in the summer if the Gunners receive a good enough bid for the player. He is behind Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck in the pecking order at the Emirates stadium and it is reported that they may even look to add to the forward line in the summer.

Sanchez is expected to leave in the summer transfer window but even if the Chilean leaves the club, it seems Perez is unlikely to feature more prominently next season.
