West Ham winger Robert Snodgrass believes that the Hammers should be aiming for a top half finish this season after turning around their poor early season form.

Slaven Bilic’s side looked like they were going to be sucked in to a relegation fight when they struggled to a 1-0 win over Snodgrass’s previous team Hull City back in December.

Since the Scottish international’s arrival at the club from the Tigers for £10.2m in January however, form has begun to pick up, and talking to West Ham’s official website, the 29 year old says the team is capable of finishing in the top ten:

“It was tough, because West Ham were hovering just above relegation zone when I played against them for Hull. But since I’ve been here I’ve not seen a team that should be fighting or even nearly fighting relegation. I’ve seen one that should be in the top half of the table. There are big characters here, too, and that starts with the manager.”

The Hammers are currently in eleventh place, level on goal difference with tenth placed Southampton, and three points off Stoke City with a game hand. Finishing in eighth like they did last season may be a challenge though. West Brom are seven points above them currently in the table.
