West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini has given his backing to captain Mark Noble after the 29 year old came in for major criticism for his performances in a Hammers shirt this season.

Lanzini was speaking in an interview with Sky Sports News HQ and he revealed Noble’s experience has helped him improve his own game since his arrival at the club in from Al Jazira in 2015.

“It’s very good playing alongside him. It’s also very good to play alongside experienced players, particularly ones that are truly loved at their club as they can teach you so much on and off the pitch. It’s very important to have him around and I try to learn as much as I can by watching him.”

The 24 year old has had to take on extra responsibility since the departure of Dimitri Payet to Marseille in the January transfer window, but his form has improved as the season has gone on.

Since the New Year the Argentinian has scored three times, and provided two assists in ten matches. Switching between a central number 10 role and playing wide on the left of midfield, the playmaker has become an established first team player under Slaven Bilic, making 29 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign.
