West Ham could renew their interest in Christian Benteke as the Belgian striker grows disillusioned with life at Crystal Palace, The Telegraph reports.

Slaven Bilic said in October that Benteke had been on his list of summer targets but the 26-year-old eventually signed for Palace in a £32 million move.

Benteke has made a decent start to his Palace career with 11 goals in 28 appearances, but his performances have noticeably deteriorated since Sam Allardyce became Eagles boss in December.

According to The Telegraph, Benteke is unhappy with Allardyce’s long-ball tactics and has complained to friends about his time at Selhurst Park.

It is also claimed that an argument with Palace teammate Andros Townsend on the pitch on Saturday has finally convinced Benteke to seek a move away from the club.

Benteke is said to have rejected a move to China and would only welcome a move to a club with a manager who “values him”.

The Telegraph add that West Ham would be willing to sell Andy Carroll to a Chinese club in order to raise funds to secure a move for the big Belgian.

Palace would reportedly sell for as little as £25 million, which must surely be an attractive proposition for Slaven Bilic given Benteke’s stock last summer.

If Sam Allardyce was to take Palace down, Benteke could be sold for considerably cheaper and Bilic is no doubt waiting to see how things pan out before making any firm decision.
