Slaven Bilic is zeroing in on Real Sociedad’s Brazilian striker Willian Jose, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Hammers are widely expected to add to their forward line this summer after a number of flops – Simone Zaza just the latest – disappointed up top.

Last summer, the Hammers were linked with moves for a number of prolific strikers including Carlos Bacca and Wissam Ben Yedder, most of which fell through to leave fans bitterly disappointed.

A marquee centre forward will therefore be high up on Slaven Bilic’s list of priorities come July, especially given the Hammers’ over-reliance on the talented yet injury prone Andy Carroll.

Willian Jose has netted ten La Liga goals in 18 games for the Basque side this term and also impressed on loan at Las Palmas last season. The 25-year-old would be a relatively cheap option should the Hammers decide to make him their man.

The Brazilian signed for Real Madrid in 2013 but only made one first team appearance for the Bernabeu giants.

He has also turned out for Sao Paulo, Gremio, Santos and Real Zaragoza.
