Slaven Bilic is reportedly desperate to secure West Ham a right back who can slot immediately into the first team set up at London Stadium.
The Hammers arguably haven’t enjoyed a steady presence in what has now become a problem position since the days of Guy Demel marauding down the right flank.
Against Watford the club’s glaring lack of a top quality right-back was exposed when makeshift wide defender Cheikhou Kouyate gifted the Hornets a cheap penalty with a clumsy challenge against former Hammer Mauro Zarate.
Kouyate was also out of position for Nacer Chadli’s goal for West Brom a fortnight ago and by his body language alone looks the Senegalese midfielder looks unhappy with his being shunted into the position while the club wait patiently for the transfer window to reopen.
