West Ham will make a £15million bid for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart in the summer, according to the Sun.

A source told the newspaper that the club delayed making a bid for a keeper in the January transfer window to ensure that the funds were available for the England international in the next transfer window. They also felt Darren Randolph was doing a good enough job as a stand-in to keep his place for now:

“We like Hart and would love to bring him to the club. That is now one that will have to wait until the summer window. We had more pressing needs in the January window. Darren Randolph has shown form enough that his job is safe until at least the summer when changes will be made. The club want to make sure they have enough money in the bank to pay Hart the weekly wages he wants.”

Hart is only available at the end of the current campaign when his season long loan at Torino expires. The club’s former number one Adrian has struggled for form this season and is now expected to leave the club in the summer.

The Hammers do have an option to extend the Spaniard’s contract by an extra two years but it looks likely that this clause will not be activated as they pursue Hart at his replacement for next season.
