Besiktas are close to signing West Ham striker Jonathan Calleri, according to Fanatik. The Turkish publication say that the champions of Turkey’s Super Lig are hoping to complete a move for the 23 year old in the January transfer window.
Calleri is currently on loan at the Hammers from Uruguayan side Deportivo Maldonado. The forward reportedly cost West Ham a £4million loan fee in the summer, and he was expected to stay until at least the end of the season.
The Argentinian was hoping to impress enough on his loan spell to get a permanent move to European football but the striker has failed to make an impression at the London Stadium.
He has not made an appearance for the Hammers since October when he came as a substitute in the second half of the 1-0 win over Sunderland. It now looks like he will depart for Turkey if Besiktas can agree terms on the deal.
