The Evening Standard are reporting that Fiorentina are leading the race to sign West Ham striker Simone Zaza but reports in Italy suggest that they are beginning to to turn their attention to Hammers forward Jonathan Calleri instead. Tuttomercatoweb are saying that the 23 year old is the preferred candidate to replace the outgoing Nikola Kalinic.

The Argentinian has been reported to be close to signing for La Liga side Las Palmas while links to Turkish club Galatasaray have also emergedĀ in recent days.

The striker has failed to feature in any West Ham game since late October when he came on as a late substitute in the 1-0 win over Sunderland. At the weekend, in an interview in Brazil, Calleri said he believed his time with the Hammers was over and that he would not mind returning to Sao Paulo where he was on loan at the end of last season.

Calleri is still on loan at the London Stadium from Uruguayan side Deportivo Maldonado but it is likely that West Ham will cut short the loan spell in order for the player to join either Las Palmas or Fiorentina.
