West Ham striker Simone Zaza is still a long way off completing his move to Valencia, according to his father and agent.

The Italian international will leave the Hammers once a loan move to another club has been agreed, but it seems that the 25 year old’s switch to La Liga will take some time to sort out. Antonio Zaza told Juvenews.eu:

“You’ve no idea how many aspects still need to be worked out. It’s not an issue of the Valencia project being convincing, it’s that there are so many details that still have to be written down, pen on paper. There’s no point talking about it now. There’s a long way to go yet, it’s definitely not close to completion.”

The Hammers will not activate their purchase option of £20million on Zaza after the striker failed to score in 11 appearances for the club. Juventus have been trying to push the player out of the exit door since it became clear that West Ham would not make his loan move permanent.

Juve Sporting Director Giuseppe Marotta told reporters yesterday that Zaza should go to Valencia, with reports that the clubs have come to a financial agreement. Football-Italia.net say that the terms are similar to those in the deal made with the Hammers with €2m paid up front for the six-month loan, and the player moving permanently for between €16-€18m after 10 matches, or if the club avoid relegation.
