West Ham goalkeeper Adrian has talked up the ability of forward Jonathan Calleri on Spanish radio, and backed the Argentinian to perform if he moves to La Liga in January

The Spaniard was chatting to Sevilla’s official radio station when according to local newspaper the Estadio Deportivo, he was asked about Calleri and whether he would be good fit at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium.

Sevilla and Malaga are believed to be the two main Spanish clubs interested in Calleri and Adrian described the player as “a good striker,” “covers the pitch well,” “always has the goal in mind” and that “he has not been lucky” since arriving in England.

Calleri hasn’t been in the squad since the draw against Stoke City at home in the league at the beginning of November. He has made nine appearances for the Hammers but hasn’t hit the back of the net once.

In recent weeks, the 23 year old has been seen back in his home country of Argentina and was interviewed by Fox Sports Argentina saying he is determined to make a success of playing in a European league. He was also asked about rumours about a move to Sevilla but didn’t reveal whether a move to Spain was on the cards.
