West Ham midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate is hoping that his friend and Senegal international team mate Kara Mbodji joins him at the Hammers in the future.

Mdodji is currently at Belgian side Anderlecht and has been linked with a move to the Premier League with Swansea City, Everton and Sunderland all rumoured to have been interested in the defender during the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure (via WIWSport) Kouyate spoke enthusiastically about Mbodji:

“He is made for the Premier League, it is a championship that makes him dream, like many Senegalese players, I hope he can come here quickly”

Mbodji joined Anderlecht from Racing Genk for €4.5million in 2015, and before playing in Belgium he had a two year spell at Norwegian side Tromso after leaving his home country in 2010.

The 27 year old can play either in central defence or in central midfield. This season Mbodji has played mostly in defence, making 20 appearances in all competitions and scoring one goal, as well as providing three assists. Anderlecht are currently two points behind league leaders Club Brugge in the Jupiler Pro League.
