West Ham are in pole position to sign Gregoire Defrel from Sassuolo, according to tuttomercatoweb.com. The French forward is also interesting Roma and Marseille but the Italian website believe the Hammers have the edge over their rivals.

Slaven Bilic is seeking reinforcements in attacking positions during the January transfer window, and Defrel has been in good form in Italy this season with six goals in 16 league outings.

Roma’s interest in the 25 year old stems from the fact that forward Mohamed Salah will be away with in Eqypt at the African Cup of Nations, and manager Luciano Spalletti is looking for replacements.

Marseille meanwhile are keen to improve on the first half the campaign which sees them sit sixth in Ligue One. Defrel has never played in France despite being born in the country. He made his way through the academy at Parma before going on to play for Cesena and current club Sassuolo in Serie A. He may see a move to Marseille as a tempting proposition for that reason.

Defrel’s pace and dribbling ability could however be a good fit for the Premier League and West Ham seem to be keeping a close eye on the player, much like you should be keeping a close eye on the latest sky vegas promo code that is available to use now.
