Napoli are on the verge of signing Leanardo Pavoletti from Genoa, according to GianlucaDiMarzio.com. The Sky Sport Italia transfer expert is reporting that the two clubs have agreed an €18million deal and that the club has already agreed personal terms with the 28 year old.

Napoli, along with AC Milan and Valencia, were believed to be interested in signing West Ham striker Simone Zaza but the move for Pavoletti means a switch to Naples for the Italian international is now dead in the water.

The most likely scenario now for Zaza is that the Hammers will prevent the forward from making the five appearances required to trigger the £20million permanent transfer from Juventus.

Instead, West Ham may cut the loan short, or request that the purchase option is removed from the deal. If the former then Zaza will return to Turin with another loan spell at Valencia the most likely to go ahead.
