West Ham striker Ashley Fletcher says he is sensing that the Hammers’ players will give a positive reaction when they face Arsenal on Saturday after last night’s defeat.

Fletcher scored his first goal for the club against Manchester United in the 4-1 EFL Cup loss but despite the setback, the 21 year old told the club’s official website he got the feeling in the dressing room that they are determined to put that right at the weekend in the London derby.

“I can sense the lads in the dressing room want to bounce straight back on Saturday. We have been playing well the last couple of weeks and we got a point at Old Trafford on Sunday which we fully deserved. It is just the little things which have let us down and we have to try and eradicate those errors and go again on.”

Slaven Bilic lamented West Ham’s lack of concentration at the start of both halves after the quarter final defeat yesterday, and the Hammers’ poor defensive displays have been a regular occurrence this season.

The only clean sheets have come in the club’s only three wins in the league this campaign, and they have conceded the fourth most goals (24) in the opening 13 matches. Something that must change if they are to turn around their poor start.
