An agent close to West Ham striker Simone Zaza has said that the Italian international would like to stay with the Hammers rather than leave the club in January.

The 25 year old has been linked with a move back to Italy with Napoli or AC Milan, while a switch to Valencia has also been rumoured, but Giuseppe Canella is quoted by Tribal Football as saying that Zaza will not be moving clubs next month:

“I do not think Zaza will go back to Italy. He had an important possibility in England and wants to try. There are still five appearances on the field to trigger the mandatory permanency clause for the English club. The boy wants to stay at West Ham.”

Zaza has not scored in the 11 games he has featured for Slaven Bilic’s side and has not started a game for the Hammers since the the 1-0 victory against Sunderland in late October.

He has made eight appearances in the league and one in the quarter final of the EFL Cup that count towards the 14 needed to make the move permanent to West Ham. It is believed that if the Italian does stay beyond January, West Ham will be seeking to remove the clause in his loan agreement to prevent the Hammers having to shell out £20million.
