West Ham’s recent run of good form came to a halt against Everton on Sunday afternoon as the Toffees ran-out 2-0 winners at Goodison Park.

Going into the game it was arguably the Hammers who were favourite after they had won their last three games in all competitions. 1-0 wins over Crystal Palace and Sunderland were followed by a 2-1 win over Chelsea in the EFL Cup and as the game got going on Merseyside, they looked the better team.

They could, however, not score and Everton, who had not won since September, grew into the game to eventually score via Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley in the second half.

It was a result that saw the Hammers drop to 16th position in the league table as Middlesbrough won but it could have been different had they made their early bright start tell.

A loss was how it finished, though, and here are the two players we think could have done more to help the club take the victory…
