West Ham striker Diafra Sakho could be set to leave the club in the January transfer window, according to Daniel Cutts in the Sun. The Senegalese international has been named as one of four players who will be allowed to leave the club by manager Slaven Bilic in a January clear out.

Hammers forward Simone Zaza and winger Gokhan Tore were both expected to depart after failing to impress during their loan spells, while full back Alvaro Arbeloa has struggled for game time so there were no particular surprises in those names being mentioned. But Sakho was seen by many as a potential solution to the club’s goalscoring woes.

No striker has scored for West Ham in the first 17 matches of the season but with Sakho expected to return, alongside Andy Carroll, after the international break following a back injury, it was expected he would figure prominently for the rest of the campaign.

Despite the striker being on the verge of leaving for West Brom in the summer, it was recently reported (also by Cutts) that the player could have been offered a new contract if his performances merited it on the pitch, but that has now been placed into doubt.
