West Ham striker Simone Zaza continues to be linked with a move away from the London stadium in January with the Corriere Dello Sport now also reporting that the Italian international is a “leading candidate” for Serie A club Napoli.

The Italian side are without star striker Arkadiusz Milik due to a serious knee injury and it looks as though Zaza is seen as a potential stand in with the Naples based club only having Manolo Gabbiadini available as a centre forward option currently.

A representative for Zaza, Giuseppe Riso was speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli when he let slip that there has been movement between Napoli and his client. He is quoted as saying:

“Something there, something is moving . For this reason it is best not to comment.”

Prior to that revelation, Riso spoke about Zaza’s time at West Ham in a more positive light. He feels the 25 year old should be given more time to adapt to the Premier League in the coming months:

“When you change the nation’s hard for a player. After only three months it is impossible to judge the adventure of Zaza at West Ham . Simone is a striker at a very high level but needs time to adapt. I am sure he will do very well in the Premier League. The West Ham results have not helped but he will come out great.”
