The Mirror are reporting that West Ham have already made enquiries about Watford striker Troy Deeney in view to a January move for the 28 year old.

Hammers boss is seeking reinforcements up front with both injuries and poor form leading to the situation where not one forward has scored in the first 17 matches this season.

Andy Carroll, Diafra Sakho and Andre Ayew have all been absent for most of the season, while their deputies Simone Zaza and Jonathan Calleri (who both were signed on loan in the summer) have failed to make an impact.

Watford’s Deeney won’t come cheap though. Champions Leicester City had a £25million bid rejected in the summer and the forward was then given a new five year deal, worth £50,000 per week, to stay at Vicarage Road.

West Ham will more than likely need to break their transfer record for Deeney who scored 13 league goals for the Hornets last season.
