West Ham are interested in re-signing Arsenal full back Carl Jenkinson for a third time, according to the Daily Star. The newspaper reports that this time the Hammers want the 24 year old on a permanent basis.

The right back spent the 2014/15 season and the best part of the 2015/16 season on loan at West Ham but his last spell was cut short due to a serious knee injury sustained against Manchester City in a 2-2 draw back in January.

Jenkinson spent the rest of last campaign with the Gunners as he stepped up his rehabilitation. Fully recovered, the defender made his first team return slightly earlier than expected in the EFL Cup Fourth Round tie against Reading last week. He also started last night against Ludogorets in the Champions League.

In the long term though, the right back will find it hard to displace Hector Bellerin in the starting lineup, and he may feel he needs to move on in order to get consistent game time now he has fully recovered from a serious injury.
