Valencia manager Cesare Prandelli has refused to talk about the club’s interest in signing West Ham striker Simone Zaza.

The former Italy coach is believed to be a keen admirer of the 25 year old’s talent but when asked about the transfer link in a press conference yesterday, the Italian replied:

“Out of respect for the current squad, I will not be speaking about the transfer market.”

He could have dismissed the rumour but his non-committal response indicates that there may be some interest there. Valencia, along with AC Milan and Napoli have been linked with a January move for Zaza after his dismal start to the season in the claret and blue.

The Italian international’s loan will become permanent if he makes 14 appearances in a Hammers shirt but the club have reportedly been in negotiations with Zaza’s representatives in the hope of getting this clause removed in order for the player to play with more freedom. The player is also believed to be keen on getting the clause takenĀ out.
