Spanish radio station Cadena Ser believe that Valencia are more interested in signing Torino striker Andrea Belotti than West Ham forward Simone Zaza.

They report that Belotti is the “preferred” but “more complicated” option for manager Cesare Prandelli, who is keen to bring in a forward during the January transfer window.

Belotti’s reputation has skyrocketed after scoring ten goals in 11 league games for Torino already this season but his €35million price tag could prove prohibitive for Valencia, according to Cadena Ser’s sources. The Italian international’s desire to play in the Europa League next season could also prove to be stumbling block with the Spanish club currently sitting 16th in the La Liga table.

It could mean therefore that West Ham may only have one suitor for Zaza, Napoli. Cadena Ser say however Juventus would be reluctant to allow the striker to leave for a division rival. The best hope for the Hammers then will be if Valencia’s attempt to sign Belotti falters, and they swiftly switch targets to Zaza.

The Sun report that West Ham have no intention of allowing the player to reach 14 games which would trigger a €20million permanent transfer. After coming on a substitute against Spurs last weekend, he has now reached 10 appearances.
