West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has “doubts” over signing Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini as part of any swap deal for Simone Zaza, according to the Daily Star.

The newspaper say sources close to West Ham believe talks are already under way in regards to Zaza’s move to Naples but this appears not to be the case if we go by Zaza’s agent and father Antonio’s latest comments.

Nonetheless Gabbiadini’s move to the London stadium as part of any deal for Zaza looks to be unlikely if the Star are correct. The Italian has been capped by Italy at senior level after an excellent goalscoring spell at Sampdoria two seasons ago when he scored 20 goals in 45 matches.

The 24 year old scored just nine times last season as back up to Gonzalo Higuain but despite being given more game time this campaign, he has scored just twice in 12 games in all competitions.

Bilic is believed to be waiting to see if Gabbiadini’s form in Serie A improves in the next couple of months before deciding on a move in the January transfer window.
