Leeds United want to sign West Ham striker Ashley Fletcher on loan for the rest of the season once the transfer window reopens in January, according to ClubCall.

Gary Monk’s side were interested in the forward in the summer before the 21 year old opted to join the Hammers after leaving the youth ranks of Manchester United in July.

Fletcher has impressed during his fleeting appearances this season, and started one league match against Manchester City in the 3-1 defeat back in August. Most of his games have come from the bench however, and he has yet to score for the Hammers in eight appearances.

Although Fletcher made the bench for the game against Everton at the weekend, he was also included in the starting lineup for the Under 23 match against West Brom on Monday night.

No doubt West Ham boss Slaven Bilic thinks Fletcher needs more game time, and Leeds may feel that the London club would be a open to a loan deal for the striker in January.
