West Ham striker Jonathan Calleri is said to be a “serious option” in the January transfer window for Sevilla, according to Estadio Deportivo. The local Seville newspaper say the Spanish club are actively looking for a new striker, and they have singled out the Argentine as a viable target.

Sevilla have been heavily linked with a move for former striker Carlos Bacca but the paper reports that any return for the Colombian is highly unlikely. The La Liga side are limited to three Non-EU players and they would have to sell or loan out one of either Mariano, Hiroshi Kiyotake or Ganso to be able to sign Bacca.

Estadio Deportivo say that manager Jorge Sampaoli favours a move for Calleri as he would fit into his style of play and would compliment the other forwards, Luciano Vietto and Wissam Ben Yedder, who are already at the club.

Calleri is by no means Sevilla’s only option though with Bacca’s AC Milan team mate Luiz Adriano and Lucas Pratto of Atletico Mineiro also being considered, but like Bacca they also don’t have EU passports.
