West Ham were reportedly scouting Racing Genk’s young midfielder Wilfred Ndidi last summer, along with a number of other clubs including Tottenham, Newcastle, Watford, Middlesbrough and West Brom, but the Nigerian international has told a Nigerian blog that there have been no “concrete” offers made to his club:

Speaking exclusively to website Complete Sports Nigeria, the 19 year old says he is concentrating on his current club rather than any transfer rumours:

“Any serious offer will have to be made to my club which will duly inform me. As I speak to you now, I read the stories in the media just like any other person, but there has not been any concrete offer made to Genk. So I don’t want to worry myself thinking about something that may eventually not materialise.”

Ndidi is ostensibly a holding midfielder but does have the ability to play in central defence. Although he is still a teenager, he has already played 75 times for Genk since joining from Nigerian side Nath Boys in January 2015.

He has made 15 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League this season, as well as 10 matches in the Europa League. The player has 6 caps so far for Nigeria as well after making his debut for the Super Eagles against the Democratic Republic of Congo last year.
