West Ham winger Michail Antonio does not believe the club should be 16th in the table with the quality of players that the Hammers have at their disposal.

Antonio’s side have performed much better in the last two matches against Tottenham and Manchester United away from the London stadium but they still have just one point to show from both performances.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ ahead of the club’s EFL Cup quarter final against Manchester United tomorrow, the 26 year old said a couple of victories could change things dramatically, both in terms of attitude and where they are in the table:

“I don’t feel that we should be down there, but because of the performances that we have had and the mistakes we’ve been making, that’s why we are down there. But as a team and the players that we have, it’s just not right.

“Luckily, this season, everybody is beating everybody and the bad run of form that we’ve had so far, we’re still in and around it. If we win a couple of games, we could easily be ninth or 10th.”

After the EFL Cup tie however, things won’t be getting any easier for West Ham in the league. They face Arsenal at home and then Liverpool away in their next two matches, and will need to ensure that performances continue to improve in order to get more points on the board.
