West Ham winger Gokhan Tore’s agent Ali Petkas has denied that his client called his parent club Besiktas to ask if he could return to the Turkish champions in the January transfer window.

A report by the Bursada Bugan newspaper said that Tore had contacted club president Fikret Orman about returning to Turkey but talking to another Turkish newspaper Fanatik, Petkas revealed that Tore is only focused on returning from injury.

The agent did however say he does not know what could happen once the transfer window opens:

“Gokhan Tore, did not call anyone as they say… Gokhan’s return to the team as soon as possible is currently the only thing he wants. Neither Gokhan nor Besiktas Administration made an initiative on this issue. But I do not know what happens in January.

Tore has been sidelined since the start of October with a thigh strain after coming off at half time against Middlesbrough in the 1-1 draw. The winger’s loan was expected to be made into a permanent deal at the end of the season but reports have indicated that manager Slaven Bilic is keen to cut the loan short. Besiktas are however not willing to take the 24 year old back unless the Hammers pay a substantial loan fee of £2.5million.
