According to The Sun West Ham are to monitor the attitude of Diafra Sakho as he returns from injury with the January transfer window a potential opportunity to let the striker go if he does not perform how the club want him to.

Sakho is returning from a back injury that has kept him out of the side all season and a source close to the club has said this about the striker: “Sakho is a player the club will monitor in terms of attitude and application. They may make him available in January dependent on his performance levels. It is a boost to have him back.”

The striker sustained the injury on international duty with Senegal and had seemed set to leave the London club in the Summer until a £15 million move to West Brom fell through.

He’ll now be expected to come back into the side and could feature as the club look to beat Crystal Palace this weekend and move out of the relegation zone.

Currently in the striking department, the Hammers have Andy Carroll out injured whilst Simone Zaza has yet to find the net since his move to the club and Enner Valencia is out on loan at Everton.
