James Collins has enjoyed somewhat of a return to playing this year after seemingly being surplus to requirements at times last season.
The Welshman has been competing with Angelo Ogbonna for the starting spot alongside Winston Reid in the West Ham defence and so far seems to be winning the battle.
At 33, though, he may not be able to play at the top of his game for much longer and with Ogbonna still not being consistent enough for Slaven Bilic’s liking he must be considering who could come in to take over from the Welshman.
Certainly, Reece Oxford deserves a mention but given that he is only 17 playing him in a Premier League defence is naturally going to have some risks.
Slaven Bilic might think it’s worth looking at potential new recruits in January, then.
A good centre-back can be worth a lot of points and one of these three would certainly do the job…
