West Ham United are set to make a move for free agent Kevin Constant as a stop-gap solution to their troublesome left-back position, according to The Mirror.
The Hammers were dealt a blow in pre-season when Aaron Cresswell picked up a serious knee injury and as a result were forced into the transfer market to bolster their options in the defensive position.
Arthur Masuaku was landed from Olympiakos an has deputised for the injured full-back, but the back-up man has picked up an ailment of his own and as such will be on the sidelines also.
Constant is currently a free agent after leaving Bologna this summer and could well provide an able short-term solution as Cresswell and Masuaku push towards a return.
The 29-year-old Guinea international was on AC Milan’s books for two years between 2012 and 2014 and also played for Turkish side Trabzonspor for a season.
