West Ham United are considering ending Simone Zaza’s loan deal at the club prematurely so they are not forced into purchasing the Italian forward, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Hammers were in the market for a new centre forward over the course of the summer but failed to sign a host of big-name attackers.

Zaza filled the void however by penning a loan deal to join the Premier League side close to the end of the summer transfer window as one of a host of new faces to arrive in east London.

The Italy international will become a permanent West Ham player if he makes a certain number of appearances for Slaven Bilic’s men, believed to be 15.

However, with Zaza’s initial showings leaving a lot to be desired, the report suggests that rather than being stung with the compulsory cost of acquiring the forward, West Ham will send the striker back to Turin before the threshold is met.
