Pundit and former professional footballer Paul Ince has stated that perhaps West Ham should look to focus less on attacking play and more on grinding out results.

The Hammers have had a disastrous start to the new campaign, losing 4-2 on Saturday to West Brom to make if four defeats from their opening five Premier League games.

Slaven Bilic’s men pride themselves on the attacking weaponry in the final third, with the likes of Dimitri Payet, Manuel Lanzini and a host of others top-class players.

However, the individual skill of some of the Irons’ playmakers irked Watford recently, who were motivated to beat the London club as a result.

With West Ham having a crisis on their hands, Ince has stated that Bilic should implore his side to focus on being tight at the back and grinding out results rather than looking to entertain the fans with their shows of skill and committing men forward.

“Maybe West Ham are thinking too much about attacking, you’ve got to be careful about how you go about it,” he told BT Sport.

“It’s not all about attacking and making people happy it’s about getting points on the board.”
